Dadpe pohe

Dadpe Pohe is a traditional uncooked maharastrian recipe made as morning breakfast or evening snack.

Basically, Dadpe pohe is made from thin flatten rice as main ingredients with chopped onions, roasted peanuts and some other indian spices.

Poha is one of very common recipes in maharastra. The most common type of poha is used which is thick poha which is made as kanda poha or batata poha with additional ingredient as breakfast or snack recipes.

Dadpe Pohe is probably the most loved breakfast recipe in Maharashtra. There are many methods of making dadpe pohe, but in Konkan region Dadpe pohe are specially popular. Here is the recipe of delicious,unique in taste, healthy dadpe pohe.

Ingredientes -

  • 1 cup thin Flattened Rice or Poha (washed and drained completely)
  • 1 Small Finely chopped Onion
  • 1/2 tbsp of Finely chopped Coriander
  • 1/4 cup Roasted peanut
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 or 2 tbsp Sugar or caster Sugar
  • 1tbsp Grated fresh Coconut
  • Lemon wedges
  • For Tempering ,
  • 1/2 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tbsp of Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp of Mustard seeds
  • 4-5 Curry leaves
  • 1/4 tbsp Asafoetida
  • 1 Chopped green chillies
  • Method -

  • In a bowl take chopped onion, salt and sugar. Rub the onions using fingertips and palm to release water from onions.
  • Now add Poha and Mix very well.
  • Add finely chopped , coriander, coarsely powdered roasted peanuts. Mix gently
  • Add fresh grated coconut. Mix well.
  • In pan, heat oil, Add mustard, cumin seeds. Let it splutter.
  • Add curry leaves and asafoetida, Chopped green chilli. Stir
  • Add this tadka into Poha mixture. Mix well.
  • Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
