Green Chickpeas Barfi (Hirve Vatane)

A GREEN CHICKPEA BURFI , an easy, Simple, one-pan Indian recipe made with just ghee, sugar and green chickpeas. I always enjoyed this barfi during festivals and special occasions!

The Green Chickpeas is healthy food to include in your diet.Also green chickpeas are high source of protin to boost your muscle growth

Ingredients -

  • 250 Gm Fresh Green Chickpeas
  • 250 Gm Khawa (Mava / evaporatet milk)
  • 125 Gm of Desi Ghee
  • 250 Gm Suger
  • Pistachios , Almonds, cashew nuts thinly sliced 1/2 cup for Garnishing.
  • 1/2 tbsp of Green cardamom powder
  • Method -

  • In a mixer jar, Take green Chickpeas add a little water and grind.
  • In a non-stick pan, Heat ghee and add green Chickpeas paste and stir continuously till all the moisture evaporates.
  • Now Add mawa and mix well and continue to saute till well blended. Add sugar and mix well till the mixture get separate from the pan.
  • Add green cardamom powder to barfi mixture and mix and saute. Add half the dry fruits sliced and mix well.
  • Take a plate or aluminium tray and Grease it with ghee.
  • Pour the mixture into the tray and spread evenly. Sprinkle remaining Dryfruits over and let it cool down to room temperature.
  • Keep the tray in the refrigerator to set. Cut into small squares and serve.
  • Note -

  • You can also add green food color in a barfi mixture to get nice color.
